Parking Lot Caretaker - Middle & High School

Part-time appointment. Located at the Queensbury Middle and High School. Effective asap, school calendar, hours: 7:00 - 8:10 am and 2:00-3:00 pm. Starting at $20.50 per hour. The position is typically combined with the part-time school monitor position at the Middle and High School from 8:10 -9:30 am and 10:30 - 2:00 pm. Starting at $17.19 per hour. Salary increased 7/1/26 to $18.79. Job Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred. Experience is preferred, but not required.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS

This position is responsible for directing traffic in a school or municipal parking lot.

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES

Directs traffic and pedestrians in a parking lot; Keeps traffic flowing and directs vehicles to parking and drop off areas; Directs students, parents and/or visitors to buildings; Sets up and removes signage outside of buildings for specific parking events; Performs related duties as required.

Good social and general intelligence; ability to be courteous yet firm with the public; good judgment; dependability; ability and willingness to work in inclement weather; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

None is required but experience as a school crossing guard is desirable.
