PARKING
CONTROL OFFICER
Parking Division The Parking Division is currently looking for enthusiastic individuals that enjoy working outdoors and working independently, as well as in a team setting. If you are self-motivated and enjoy a challenge, this could be a great fit. We utilize a variety of techniques and tools to enforce the parking laws in the city, i.e., foot/bicycle patrol, LPR vehicles, etc. If you are a detail-oriented person that has a good sense of fairness and judgement making, we would love to hear from you. The ability to communicate clearly is a must, as well as excellent customer service skills.
Requirements:
Previous customer service experience and excellent customer service skills. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to work independently. Familiarity with Word and Excel. Knowledge of or the ability to learn both the layout of the City and two-way radio communication procedures. Ability to perform light physical work with frequent standing and walking, reaching, stooping, lifting/carrying objects weighing 25 lbs., and field of vision to move quickly or to stand in traffic and avoid being hit by vehicles. Ability and willingness to work in varied weather conditions. Ability to pass pre-employment physical assessment. Must possess valid Maine Class C driver's license (must provide license number) and maintain a good driving record.
Schedule:
Full-time position (37.5 hrs/week - 4-day work week): 9 am-7 pm, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, 9 am-6:30 pm Friday. Applications accepted until filled. Offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory criminal background check.
Salary & Benefits:
