JOB SUMMARY
Works under limited supervision while patrolling and monitoring parking zones in the UT Southwestern Campus area for violations and initiates appropriate action to ensure compliance with parking restrictions as established. Monitors parking facility capacities and reports results. May work independently while enforcing offsite parking facilities.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required Education High School Diploma or GED. Experience 3 years of experience in a high public contact/ customer service-related position to include 1 year of experience as a Parking Enforcement Officer or related position Licenses and Certifications (DRIVERS)
DRIVERS LICENSE
- Class "C" Texas Driver License with an acceptable driver's record to utilize a university vehicle Upon Hire
JOB DUTIES
Ability to perform duties with limited supervision and must be able to make independent decisions following established guidelines. To interpret parking regulations and state laws to effectively enforce parking violations. Must travel to offsite clinic (UTSW Satellite) locations to enforce parking rules and regulations and perform space capacity counts. Investigates and resolves parking complaints both proactively and on call by the dispatcher or other associated entities as assigned following established guidelines. Conducts follow up investigations and issues warning notices or parking citations as necessary to remedy parking related incidents. Operates hand-held parking enforcement technology and in-vehicle license plate recognition system to identify parking violations and vehicles in a suspended status. Notifies the supervisor of any unusual circumstances and situations when vehicles are in need of enhanced enforcement with immobilizing boots or vehicle towing. Conducts daily vacancy counts of parking facilities and logs results in parking management system. Provides information to customers regarding general information, directions, and parking related issues. Parking-related information will be provided in order to increase voluntary compliance. Assists motorists who have stalled cars, flat tires, or who are locked out of their vehicles. Provides action and/or information regarding parking incidents when requested by the supervisor, administration, and/or the Traffic and Parking Appeals Committee. Immediately reports criminal activity, traffic problems, and other campus related problems to the dispatcher. Recommends traffic control and parking sign improvements to department leadership. Interacts with employees and visitors in a professional manner and demonstrates high level of customer service engagement in performance of duties. Assists with troubleshooting and resolving issues related to parking equipment, including gates and pay-on-foot stations. Performs other duties as needed.
