Full Job Description Job Purpose:
To provide exceptional customer service and parking assistance to guests visiting the downtown area, ensuring a smooth and positive parking experience. This role involves managing parking facilities, directing traffic, assisting with payments and maintaining a clean and organized environment. The Guest Ambassador will act as a helpful and informative resource for visitors, contributing to a welcoming and efficient downtown parking system.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome guests arriving at the downtown parking facilities, providing clear and concise directions to available parking spaces. Monitor parking lot traffic flow, ensuring smooth and efficient vehicle movement and addressing any congestion or safety concerns. Assist guests with parking payment procedures, including operating automated payment machines and troubleshooting any payment issues. Provide information and assistance to guests regarding downtown businesses and services, acting as a knowledgeable resource for visitors. Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the parking facilities, including litter removal and reporting any maintenance or safety hazards. Enforce parking regulations and address any violations in a professional and courteous manner. Respond to guest inquiries and complaints promptly and effectively, striving to resolve any issues and ensure customer satisfaction. Provide support to other parking staff and collaborate to maintain a cohesive and efficient parking operation. Maintain accurate records of parking transactions and activity, reporting any discrepancies or irregularities to the appropriate personnel. Stay informed about downtown events and activities to anticipate parking demands and provide proactive assistance to guests. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations and customer service standards. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Experience:
Minimum of one year of experience in a customer service-oriented role, preferably in a parking or hospitality environment. Experience handling credit card transactions. Experience operating parking equipment such as gates and ticket dispensers (preferred).
Required Skills and Abilities:
Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a diverse range of customers. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a positive and helpful attitude in all interactions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Basic math skills and the ability to accurately handle credit card transactions. Ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues and report malfunctions to appropriate personnel. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle customer complaints and difficult situations with diplomacy and tact. Ability to stand for extended periods and work in various weather conditions. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to adhere to company policies and procedures. Basic computer skills (preferred). Knowledge of local area and parking regulations (preferred).
