Traffic Officer (part-time, 28 hours/week) The Traffic Officer enforces campus parking regulations and promotes roadway and pedestrian safety. This position patrols assigned areas, issues citations for parking violations, supports traffic flow during events and peak periods, and assists with security-related calls as needed. The role requires professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively in high-visibility public settings. What you'll do in this position: Parking Enforcement & Patrol Patrol campus areas to ensure compliance with parking regulations. Issue citations for violations such as overtime and unauthorized parking. Use handheld devices to verify vehicle registration and permit status. Promote safety in campus roads and parking lots. Campus Support Direct traffic and assist pedestrians during events and peak traffic times. Respond to traffic-related service calls and safety concerns. Support campus security operations as needed. What qualifies you for this role: Required A firm commitment to the mission of BYU. High school diploma or equivalent. Valid U.S. driver's license. Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends, holidays, and special events. Strong communication skills and professional demeanor. Ability to remain calm in stressful or confrontational situations. High integrity and sound judgment. Ability to operate enforcement vehicles and electronic citation equipment. Good physical condition to perform patrol duties. Preferred Experience in parking enforcement, traffic control, or a related field.

Typical Starting Pay:
$16.50 to $21.25 an hour
