Three years of experience in offender records analysis, offender classification, offender pre-classification, security, or social services or as a probation or parole officer; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR A bachelor's degree. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Data Entry and Case Management:
Accurately enter sentencing and court documentation into the offender case management system (CAJUN/CIPRS), ensuring information is complete and up to date. Sentence Review and Release Verification :
Analyze sentencing records and time computations to confirm that release dates are lawful and calculated in accordance with state statutes and agency policy. Criminal History Review :
Conduct thorough criminal background reviews prior to release, identifying potential holds, warrants, or detainers that could impact custody or supervision decisions. Work Environment:
This position works closely with a team of specialists assigned to a designated region of parishes. Together, the team is responsible for managing intake and release processing, reviewing case documents, and coordinating with jails, courts, and other criminal justice partners to ensure timely and accurate case handling. job appointment is a temporary job lasting up to four years; however, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment. This position may also be filled as a probational appointment if a non-temporary position becomes available in the recruitment process. If filled by probation, a permanent classified LA State employee, if selected, may be required to accept a probational appointment. Career Progression Group :
