Elayn Hunt Correctional Center is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Corrections ARDC Specialist to support the accurate intake, classification, and documentation of offenders entering the facility. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with departmental policies, legal requirements, and institutional standards by managing offender records, coordinating assessment processes, and maintaining precise data within the Admissions, Reception, and Diagnostic Center (ARDC). Minimum Qualifications Three years of experience in offender records analysis, offender classification, offender pre-classification, security, or social services or as a probation or parole officer; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties:
Coordinates with sheriffs' offices, clerks of court, parish jail administrators, district attorneys, and judges to address matters related to all new commitments entering the Department of Public Safety & Corrections (DPS&C). Reviews and verifies all new commitment documents to ensure compliance with statutory, legal, and departmental requirements, including validation of hard-labor sentences, sex-offender identification and tracking, multiple-offender restrictions, and victim-notification obligations. Extracts and analyzes critical information from court minutes, bills of information, State Police criminal history reports, pre-sentence investigations, and other legal documents to prepare an accurate chronological history of an offender's incarceration. Contacts sheriffs, clerks of court, probation personnel (in-state and out-of-state), and judges to obtain, confirm, and clarify information necessary for accurate time computation and sentence calculation. Conducts detailed research and analysis of individual criminal records , ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with all applicable laws and departmental policies.

Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted. An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted. This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
