Deputy Chief U.S. Probation Officer, Type II
Court Name/Organization Mississippi Northern Probation and Pretrial Services
Overview of the Position Andrew Martin, the current Deputy Chief U.S. Probation Officer, will retire on Sept. 30, 2026. As part of this application process, the person selected as Deputy Chief will be evaluated on their ability to become Chief U.S. Probation Officer upon the retirement of Michael East, the current Chief U.S. Probation Officer, on Dec. 31, 2026. Actual appointment date will be determined by the Court. Actual appointment date will be determined by the Court. The Deputy Chief assists the Chief in all areas of the administration and management of the U.S. Probation & Pretrial Services Office in the Northern District of Mississippi. The Deputy Chief oversees the day-to-day operations of the district. This position is a high-level management position and is second-in-command to the Chief.
