U.S. Pretrial Services & Probation Officer Specialist Akron, OH Job Details $88,902 - $144,492 a year 16 hours ago Qualifications Caseload management Supervising experience Mentoring Senior level Training Community resource coordination Full Job Description Job Details for U.S. Pretrial Services & Probation Officer Specialist Court Name/Organization Ohio Northern Probation and Pretrial Services Overview of the Position The U.S. Pretrial Services & Probation Officer Specialist (Special Offenders) is an experienced supervision professional responsible for managing complex, high-risk caseloads involving individuals with specialized needs, including mental health, substance abuse, sex offenses, financial and computer-related crimes, and location monitoring. This role requires a strong command of policies, procedures, and evidence-based supervision practices, as specialists are often entrusted with the most challenging and high-profile cases while ensuring effective oversight of pretrial clients, probationers, supervised releasees, and parolees. In addition to carrying a caseload, the Specialist serves as a subject matter expert and leader within the district, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to other officers. They contribute to case assessment and planning, develop community resources, support policy initiatives, and act as a liaison with partner agencies. This role demands integrity, initiative, collaboration, and a forward-thinking approach to enhance supervision strategies and uphold the district's mission.
