Job Description

Who are you? You are a caring and compassionate individual who possesses a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or closely related field, as well as obtains a minimum licensure of LSW or LPC. Previous experience working in the criminal justice system and familiarity with the body and knowledge supported through the University of Cincinnati Criminal Justice Department is preferred. You must have the ability to obtain a driver's license, earn CPR/First Aid certification, and be willing to submit fingerprinting and background check. In this role you will regularly use various computer apps including Microsoft Office, our HRIS, EHR and other online systems, with multiple logins often simultaneously. How you'll make a difference in this role: Under the direction of the Criminal Justice Program Supervisor, you will be providing mental health and substance use disorder services to inmates of the Hancock County Criminal Justice Center. Service is provided on an individual or group basis and is provided on-site at the Hancock County Justice Center with a focus on transitioning back to community-based services. You will monitor, coordinate and assist in completing necessary evaluations and assessments in order to identify individual needs of persons served as well as facilitate groups with evidence-based practice. You will also work closely and cooperatively with staff of the Hancock County Justice Center. You will provide coordination and assistance in planning for those clients leaving the legal system, and your primary focus will be to link the client with necessary services upon release and support and promote stabilization in the community. You will be providing Outreach and Intervention Services to individuals with an incarceration during the last twelve months. You will conduct Pre-Screening and/or Crisis Intervention services at the Hancock County Justice Center at the request of the Criminal Justice Program Director or designee. You will also monitor services and activities, maintain clinical records, and collect and manage data. Who are we?
