Full-Time, Benefits Eligible, hours/schedules include rotating weekends, holidays and shifts
Salary:
$46,418 annually, also receives an annual union step increase. Current Court professionals would transfer at their standard step salary.
SUMMARY:
This is a professional level position assigned to the Fifth Judicial District of Pennsylvania, Criminal Division, Pretrial Services. The Bail Investigator's primary responsibilities will be completing bail investigations, making recommendations to the Court, working both in the Allegheny County Jail and the Pretrial main office, and all duties related to bail modifications, revocations, supervision and failure to appear warrants.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
? Bachelor's degree, preferably in a Criminal Justice or Social Services field. Master's degree in a related field is beneficial, but not required Knowledge of PA criminal justice system, and knowledge of the policies and practices of the Pretrial Services Department is preferable Ability to carry out multi-dimensional tasks and problem solve, with accuracy critical to the recommendation of bail on the case Ability to work and communicate effectively and appropriately with court and government officials, other agencies, offenders and the public Ability to work and conduct interviews in a professional manner Ability to gather and research information and prepare formal reports for the Court Ability to think, make professional judgment decisions and adapt to changing work situations General computer skills and Word/Excel familiarity Knowledge of pretrial risk tools Ability to travel between various office sites and locations throughout the county and state as required
License Requirements:
PA driver's license, Act 33 clearance and criminal background check
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform work in the computer systems that are essential for completing bail unit work (CPCMS, MDJS, JNET, ASAP, Pretrial Database, Adult Probation Database, Juvenile Database, Anytrax) Maintain accurate, complete and up-to-date case records in the Pretrial Database Interview and verify pretrial information gathered for bail setting purposes Present information to the Court both in written form and in person Make appropriate recommendations during court sessions Gather and evaluate data pertinent to the individual cases in connection with both investigation and supervision Perform other clerical duties as required
