Job Description

This is a Non-Civil Service position located in the General Sessions Court. The Probation Officer 1 supervises a caseload of adult misdemeanant offenders under the jurisdiction of the General Sessions Court. Perform Intake and Case Management in compliance with the most current General Sessions Court Probation Department policy manual. Create and maintain accurate/up-to-date information in the department's database. Monitor probationer's compliance with court-ordered conditions. Assist probationers with employment, financial, and/or vocational training. Prepare reports as required by the Director, Supervisor, or the court. Attend court as scheduled or otherwise requested by the Director, Supervisor, or Judge. Prepare probation violations for non-compliance. Make referrals, monitor attendance, and receive verification of the completion of court-ordered programs. Thoroughly review cases to ensure that jurisdiction is not lost. Report to the court any non-compliance, completion of programs, and/or recommended conditions. Respond to all calls and emails in a timely manner. Monitor probationer's participation in the drug testing program which include holding probationers accountable for call-in and testing requirements. Comply with all procedures and policies as outlined in the General Sessions Court Probation Manual and the General Sessions Court Personnel Manual.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. •No Substitution•
LICENSES REQUIRED
Valid Driver License Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply.
