Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Adult Probation Officer to join our community justice team. In this vital role, you will supervise and support individuals on probation, ensuring they adhere to court-ordered conditions while working towards their rehabilitation and successful reintegration into society. Your energetic approach will help build trust, motivate positive change, and promote public safety through effective case management and community engagement. Duties Supervise adults on probation by monitoring compliance with court-ordered conditions through regular meetings and home visits Develop individualized case plans that promote rehabilitation, accountability, and community safety Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage behavioral change and resolve barriers to compliance Conduct thorough interviews with clients to assess needs, risks, and strengths, informing case management strategies Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, social service providers, and community organizations to coordinate support services Prepare detailed reports documenting client progress, violations, and interventions for court review Manage crisis situations effectively by applying crisis management skills to de-escalate conflicts or emergencies Qualifications Bachelor's degree in social work, criminal justice, psychology or a related field; relevant experience may substitute for education where permitted Proven experience in interviewing, case management, or social work is highly desirable Strong knowledge of law enforcement procedures and criminal justice processes Skilled in motivational interviewing techniques to foster positive behavioral change Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail and accuracy Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and effectively under pressure Familiarity with social service resources and community programs that support offender rehabilitation Join us in this rewarding role where your energy and expertise will help transform lives while safeguarding our communities.
