Job Description

Job Summary Primarily responsible for license and regulatory compliance activities, such as preparing licensing documentation and submittals, supporting regulatory inspections, drafting regulatory position briefings, ensuring timely and adequate reporting to regulatory agencies.. Responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance with all requirements, protocols, etc. Job Duties/Tasks/Responsibilities Develops, generates and recommends regulatory positions for use by senior management on all regulatory issues and others, as requested. Reviews and evaluates technical packages and safety analysis reports for regulatory compliance. Assists with regulatory issues involving security and safeguards materials, as needed. Prepares regulatory submittals in accordance with appropriate regulations and regulatory requirements. Develops, generates and reviews correspondence related to environmental reporting requirements, and regulations and permits, both federal and state. Manages site interactions with various regulatory and governmental agencies. Manages and support activities that ensure the licensing basis for the site is maintained properly. Researches licensing documentation, evaluates options, makes sound recommendations and presents results orally and in writing. Coordinates and manages Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) inspection and licensing activities. Promotes and develops relationships with all regulatory agencies relative to the site through understanding and fully communicating their requirements; translates into action plans across all impacted departments; coordinates progress of action plans based upon recommendations from each regulatory agency. Represents Licensing and Regulatory Affairs on company teams, and effectively communicates activities/concerns to the Regulatory Affairs organization. Represents the site before various regulatory and governmental agencies by appearing before the agencies and associated adjudicatory procedures, as needed. Provides recommendations to various groups regarding regulatory findings and/or governmental agencies findings. Works with Financial Department to prepare regulatory submittals, develop public presentations, and ensure regulatory compliance. Participates in Management Review Committee (MRC) meetings and support Corrective Action Program (CAP) Responsible for mentoring Nuclear Licensing Specialist in licensing and regulatory compliance activities. Serves as back-up to Licensing manager as needed; fills in one to two weeks a month. Responsible for recommending decisions related to Nuclear Safety and Regulatory Compliance. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Education, Experience and Certification Requirements Education Bachelors degree required in Engineering or Science Certifications None required Required Experience A minimum of 5 years experience working in Licensing and/or Regulatory Compliance, preferably in the nuclear industry Preferred Experience None preferred Required and Desired Skills Working knowledge of regulatory and nuclear licensing requirements Familiar with NRC regulatory and licensing documents Familiar with Corrective Action Program Strong oral, written and verbal communication skills Ability to work with craft personnel, supervisors and senior management Intermediate computer, Microsoft Office Suite and internet research skills EnergySolutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer .
