Safety Director

Carcel & G Construction is seeking a motivated, experienced, and highly driven Safety Manager to join our team. We are a leading heavy civil and earthmoving contractor working throughout Alabama and surrounding areas on large-scale infrastructure, site development, utility, roadway, landfill, and excavation projects. This position plays a critical role in protecting our employees, maintaining compliance, promoting a strong safety culture, and ensuring every project is completed safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be passionate about safety, confident in the field, capable of building relationships with crews and supervisors, and willing to hold all employees accountable to company standards. Minimum Qualifications Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, Construction Management, or related field OR Minimum of five (5) years of heavy civil construction experiencePreferred QualificationsThe following certifications/designations are strongly preferred but not required:

OSHA 500 CHST

(Construction Health and Safety Technician) CSP (Certified Safety Professional) ASP (Associate Safety Professional) STSC (Safety Trained Supervisor Construction) OSHA 30 Certification First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Certifications

DOT/FMCSA

compliance experience Experience conducting safety training and incident investigations Responsibilities Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections and audits Assist in developing and enforcing company safety policies and procedures Lead safety meetings, orientations, toolbox talks, and training sessions Ensure compliance with

OSHA, DOT, MSHA

(if applicable), and company safety standards Investigate incidents, near misses, and property damage events Assist supervisors with hazard recognition and corrective action plans Maintain required documentation, logs, reports, and compliance records Work closely with field leadership to promote proactive safety planning Support a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement Travel to jobsites as needed Desired Skills & Traits Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to speak confidently with field personnel and management Organized and detail-oriented Ability to work independently and make sound decisions Knowledge of excavation, utility, grading, roadway, and heavy equipment operations Strong problem-solving abilities Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus Why Join Carcel & G Construction? Pay:

$45,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
