Job Description
The successful candidate will oversee Health & Safety programs, conduct field inspections and investigations, support audits, and help drive continuous improvement across the site's Health & Safety Management System (HSMS). Key Responsibilities Ensure the Health & Safety Management System (HSMS) complies with Client standards, as well as local, state, and federal regulations. Conduct audits of processes, facilities, and work areas to identify safety risks and ensure compliance. Support production and maintenance teams by providing Health & Safety guidance during planning activities. Lead hazard assessments, risk evaluations, and corrective action processes. Conduct incident investigations, root cause analyses, and recommend preventative measures. Manage Health & Safety projects and initiatives across site operations. Coordinate and manage MSHA, OSHA, and State Mine Inspector visits. Address potential violations and ensure all required documentation is completed correctly. Inspect field activities and ensure safe work practices are being followed. Apply knowledge of safety regulations, policies, and procedures to support safe production operations. Present Health & Safety information to employees, supervisors, and management teams. Respond to Health & Safety concerns from employees and stakeholders. Perform additional duties as required. Job Scope Nature of Work Works on complex Health & Safety issues and helps implement practical solutions. May delegate routine tasks while managing higher-level responsibilities. Interaction Level Collaborates closely with operational teams, peers, contractors, and external inspectors. Autonomy Works with moderate supervision. Has flexibility to set priorities, timelines, and objectives that may impact departments or work groups. Budget Responsibilities Assists with budget preparation and cost monitoring for Health & Safety activities. Leadership Responsibilities May supervise personnel depending on site requirements. Expected to manage projects, programs, and day-to-day business decisions independently.
