Job Description

A leading national mechanical and construction contractor has an immediate opening for a self-motivated Safety Manager to join a high-performing project team in the greater Phoenix Area. This role is critical to ensuring a safe, compliant, and proactive work environment on complex construction projects. The Safety Manager will coordinate and administer site safety programs in alignment with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company safety and occupational health standards.

This position provides safety leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on support to project teams. Responsibilities include training, permitting, incident investigation, emergency response, jobsite inspections, corrective action tracking, job safety analysis, and maintaining all required documentation. The Safety Manager plays a key role in ensuring every team member returns home healthy and safe each day.

Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister and support site safety programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company standardsConduct site inspections, track corrective actions to closure, and support continuous improvementLead or participate in incident investigations and emergency response activitiesPerform job safety analyses and support hazard identification and mitigationMaintain jobsite-specific safety documentation and recordsProvide training, permitting support, and safety resources to project teamsCommunicate safety expectations clearly to both technical and non-technical personnelCollaborate closely with field teams, frontline workers, and project leadership to promote a strong safety cultureMinimum Skills and QualificationsStrong computer skills and proficiency with common software toolsExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong tracking, documentation, and follow-up abilitiesWorking knowledge of DOE and/or regulatory requirements related to construction safety and industrial hygieneWorking knowledge of

(General Industry)Ability to apply the hierarchy of controls to eliminate or mitigate hazardsExperience preparing and communicating safety and industrial hygiene information to diverse audiencesEducation and Experience (must meet one of the following)A degree (Associate, Bachelor, or Master) in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field such as Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Protection, or Fire Protection, plus at least 6 months of experience in safety, health, environmental, or emergency response; ORProfessional certification such as OHST, CHST, ASP, or CSP, plus at least 6 months of relevant experience; ORFive years of construction experience where safety, health, or environmental protection made up 100 percent of daily job dutiesPreferred Certifications
