This position serves as a key resource for injury prevention, claims management, safety training, incident investigation, regulatory compliance, and risk analysis. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of workers' compensation administration and occupational safety principles and is capable of partnering with leadership to reduce workplace injuries, improve employee engagement, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Workers' Compensation Administration Manage all aspects of the workers' compensation program from injury reporting through claim closure. Coordinate with injured employees, supervisors, medical providers, insurance carriers, attorneys, and third-party administrators. Monitor claim activity, reserves, litigation status, and return-to-work opportunities. Coordinate transitional duty and reasonable accommodations with management and Human Resources. Review claim trends and identify opportunities to reduce claim frequency and severity. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of workplace injuries and illnesses. Maintain workers' compensation records and documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Safety Program Administration Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of company safety programs and procedures. Support regulatory compliance efforts related to OSHA and applicable state safety regulations. Maintain OSHA injury and illness records and assist with annual reporting requirements. Participate in the development and implementation of corrective actions resulting from audits, inspections, and incident investigations. Assist with safety committee activities and employee engagement initiatives. Training & Development Develop, coordinate, deliver, and track employee safety training programs. Create and maintain training materials, presentations, toolbox talks, and safety communications. Assist supervisors and managers with safety coaching and employee development. Maintain training records and compliance documentation. Support onboarding and orientation programs related to safety and injury prevention. Incident Investigation & Risk Management Participate in workplace incident investigations and root cause analyses. Identify contributing factors and recommend corrective and preventive actions. Conduct facility and jobsite inspections to identify hazards and verify compliance. Perform risk assessments for manufacturing, installation, and office operations. Analyze injury, incident, and claims data to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Prepare reports and recommendations for leadership regarding safety performance and risk reduction strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Risk Management, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Minimum three years of experience in workers' compensation, safety, risk management, or related field. Manufacturing and/or construction industry experience preferred. Experience conducting employee training and presentations preferred. Experience with OSHA recordkeeping and incident investigations preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Knowledge of workers' compensation claims administration and return-to-work processes. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and occupational safety principles. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all organizational levels. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint. Ability to travel up to 10%.
