Job Description
Under general supervision performs work of moderate difficulty in the management of public programs; performs related work as assigned.(Illustrative Only)
- Develops, implements, and evaluates programs that provide services to the public
- Assures contract and regulatory compliance
- Participates in the development and administration of program budget
- Writes grant proposals and develops new funding sources
- Negotiates contracts
- Supervises and evaluates employees
- Interprets guidelines and rules
- Develops policies and procedures
- Meets with clients, investigates and resolves client complaints
- Develops and implements training as needed
- Prepares and maintains records and reports
- Performs related duties as assigned Essential functions of this position include and not limited to: driving; working with and around others, co-workers, clients, agencies, etc.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must obtain an Arizona driver's license by date of hire and maintain it throughout employment. Fingerprint clearance may be required.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Considerable knowledge of OSHA standards 1910 and 1926 related to civil construction, and particularly road and road-related construction and road maintenance operations Accident investigations and reporting; leading corrective processes Strategies for building a culture of safety within an organization Working with culturally diverse populations Training techniques This position is exempt from overtime.Note:
Individuals in exempt classifications as part time employees may be classified as non-exempt per FLSA law regarding minimum weekly salary requirements. This position is safety sensitive.Considerable knowledge of:
- Public program planning, development and management
- State and federal program guidelines and regulations
- Community resources and referral options
- Principles and practices of effective supervision Working knowledge of:
- Governmental budgetary practices, including purchasing and contract management
- Grant writing, development, and management Skill in:
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with a culturally diverse client population
- Evaluating program outcomes and developing appropriate solutions to problems Ability to:
- Manage multiple projects and meet specific deadlines
- Analyze and evaluate complex financial and statistical data
- Address and motivate the public and professional groups
- Prepare and maintain complex reports and records
- Manage contracts
- Work safely and support the culture of workplace safety
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public
- Follow written and verbal instructions
