Summary The Safety Manager is responsible for leading and managing all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs across Organo USA operations. This role ensures the safe design, installation, operation, and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment systems. The Safety Manager will drive regulatory compliance, mitigate risks associated with chemical handling and treatment processes, and promote a strong safety culture across engineering, field service, and operational teams. Reporting Relationships The Safety Manager reports to the Senior Manager, Solution and Maintenance Operations Major Duties and Responsibilities EHS Program Leadership Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EHS programs tailored to water and wastewater treatment operations. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, state environmental agencies, and other applicable regulations. Establish safety standards for system design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities. Process & Chemical Safety Oversee safety protocols related to chemical handling (e.g., chlorine, coagulants, acids, polymers). Conduct hazard analyses (JHA, HAZOP) for treatment processes and system designs. Work closely with engineering teams to ensure safe integration of advanced treatment technologies. Field & Operational Safety Support field service teams working on installations, maintenance, and repairs at customer sites. Ensure safe work practices for confined spaces, lockout/tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, and water treatment systems. Develop and enforce PPE requirements specific to treatment facilities and job sites. Training & Safety Culture Deliver targeted safety training for plant personnel, engineers, and field technicians. Promote a proactive safety culture focused on hazard recognition and prevention. Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and continuous improvement initiatives. Incident Investigation & Risk Management Investigate incidents, near misses, and environmental releases. Identify root causes and implement corrective/preventive actions. Monitor safety trends and proactively address emerging risks. Environmental Compliance Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with EPA regulations. Monitor environmental impact related to water treatment processes and waste discharge. Support sustainability and environmental stewardship initiatives. Audits & Reporting Conduct regular safety and environmental audits across facilities and project sites. Maintain OSHA logs, environmental reports, and compliance documentation. Interface with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with engineering, operations, and project management teams to embed safety into all phases of projects. Serve as the EHS subject matter expert for leadership and external stakeholders. Support continuous improvement and operational excellence efforts. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in environmental health & safety, Environmental Engineering, or related field. 5+ years of EHS experience in water/wastewater treatment, chemical processing, or industrial environments. 5+ years of EHS management experience in industrial, chemical processing, and water/wastewater treatment environments. Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, especially related to water treatment operations. Professional certifications

CHMM or similar CSSM or similar CSST or similar Electrical compliance training for construction
NFPA 70E
Skills and Qualifications Deep understanding of hazards associated with water treatment systems and chemical processes. Strong leadership, communication, and training skills. Experience working with field service or project-based teams. Ability to conduct risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations. High attention to detail with strong problem-solving capabilities. Exposure to operational water treatment systems and chemicals. Travel is required to project sites and client locations as needed. Must be able to work in environments requiring strict PPE adherence.
