Job Summary A respected federal construction contractor is seeking an experienced Site Safety Health Officer to support a high-profile VA Hospital construction project in Tucson, AZ. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a construction safety professional with strong federal project experience, deep knowledge of EM 385-1-1, and the ability to lead safety compliance in complex healthcare and government construction environments. The Site Safety Health Officer will be the primary on-site safety representative, partnering with project leadership, subcontractors, and corporate safety teams to maintain a proactive, compliant, and accountable safety culture. Key Responsibilities
- Implement, monitor, and enforce compliance with
EM 385-1-1, OSHA 29 CFR
1926, company safety policies, and project-specific safety requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and administer Accident Prevention Plans, Activity Hazard Analyses, daily inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments.
- Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, refresher training, and site-specific safety education for employees and subcontractors.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Coordinate subcontractor safety compliance, review safety plans and documentation, and support emergency response procedures as needed.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation using Procore, USACE
RMS, NAVFAC
eCMS, Microsoft 365, and other construction management platforms. Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $110,000 to $150,000 per year.
