Serve as the primary lead for audits, and relevant onsite inspections or customer visits. Responsible for compliance for BRCGS Food Safety Standards, FDA, USDA and applicable regulatory requirements, customer requirements, and third-party audit programs. Provides leadership and support for continuous improvement initiatives related to food safety, quality systems, regulatory compliance, and operational effectiveness. Principal Duties and responsibilities 1. Monitors all food safety systems at the plant for in process and finished goods, ensures organizational understanding of and compliance with all applicable federal, state, local and customer food safety regulations and standards, including; FDA, USDA, FSMA, HACCP, HARPC, GMP and BRCGS food safety and regulatory requirements. 2. Responsible for the management, development, implementation, and auditing of all HARPC plans. 3. Implement, maintain and continuously improve internal systems to meet BRCGS Food Safety Standard, including management of audit readiness, compliance activities and corrective actions. 4. Responsible for company food safety and quality audits; reviews audit findings and implements corrective actions with operations management. 5. Responsible for the management of product recalls and mock recalls. 6. Responsible for the management of the Environmental Monitoring Program. 7. Supervises, develops, trains, and supports Quality and Food Safety personnel to ensure departmental objectives and compliances standards are achieved. 8. Performs internal audits and GMP inspections throughout the facility and implement corrective action where needed. 9. Provides training to all departments regarding food safety programs, GMP's, and allergen control. 10. Responsible for certification programs; Organic and Halal. 11. Coordinates all supplier food safety-quality audits, both domestic and international, for ingredients and packaging. These audits may be in person, virtual, or managed by a third-party auditing firm. 12. Responsible for the management of the Pest Control Program. 13. Develop, review, and update standard operating procedures, internal specifications, and technical data sheets. 14. Interprets data and trends to detect early signs of deviation from specifications and standards. 15. Maintain effective working relationships with all levels of company personnel, USDA, and customers. 16. Other duties as assigned. Other Duties and Responsibilities 1. Support QA and Food Safety department with all programs. 2. Work closely with other departments to execute the food safety plan. Knowledge, skills, and abilities required
Knowledge:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or Microbiology and 5 years' experience working in Food Safety and Quality role within a food manufacturing environment. Strong analytical and computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office. Working knowledge of HACCP, HARPC, FSMA, GMPs, allergen controls, sanitation programs, environmental monitoring, and food manufacturing regulatory requirements including FDA and USDA standards preferred.
Skills:
Attention to details and the ability to follow through to completion of a task or assignment. Strong analytical and computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Abilities:
Able to manage competing demands and remain professional while producing results in a timely manner. Ability to garner support from all levels of Associates.
Pay:
$90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
