Occupational Therapy Supervisor - Carson Masada - 4.5 Gardena, CA Job Details Full-time $95,000 - $110,000 a year 4 hours ago Qualifications Driver's License OTR Occupational Therapy License Full Job Description An Occupational Therapist Supervisor is responsible for assuring the overall provision of comprehensive occupational therapy for all eligible clients. The OT supervisor supports the successful integration of treatment services for all clients and all issues related to contract compliance. The OT supervisor is expected to exercise independent judgement and discretion in the leadership of the occupational therapy department and demonstrates a commitment to services and values of the agency. The position reports to the Occupational Therapy Manager.
DUTIES 1. IMPLEMENTATION
Is responsible for coordinating and implementing Occupational Therapy treatment services and assures multidisciplinary service in coordination with the treatment team and outside providers. 2.
SUPERVISION
Provides direct supervision of staff as assigned. Performs treatment session observations/feedback 2 times per year or more for department staff. 3.
SUPPORT:
Provides supportive guidance by way of regular participation in program meetings (both inter and intra agency) as necessary. 4.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Monitors staffs time management and accountability of service and ensures documentation, reports, etc. are thoroughly and properly completed in a timely manner. 5.
TRAINING
Educates new staff on the agency's goals and ensures that all staff have the training to competently perform the duties of their position. Provides education to interdisciplinary staff on the unique value of occupational therapy within the company. 6.
MEETINGS
Facilitates and/or assists with staff meetings, in service trainings, and new staff training as scheduled. Represents the agency in community and county meetings as assigned by OT manager. 7.
QI:
Regularly meets with the Quality Improvement liaison and delegates responsibilities for the implementation of necessary program adjustments. Conducts periodic, regular internal audits of files, ensures service delivery outcomes and quality of reports. 8.
COMPLIANCE
Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, contractual requirements, and ethical standards of the profession. 9.
ETHICS:
Performs all duties within appropriate scope and boundaries and with the application of legal and ethical standards. 10.
EVALUATIONS AND DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS
Demonstrates the ability to fairly evaluate staff and provide them with the input necessary to improve performance in collaboration with OT Manager. Assures that all disciplinary actions are conducted with fairness and respect and focused on the improvement of the employee in collaboration with OT Manager. 11.
EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
Demonstrates respect for the intrinsic value of each person, their individual differences and culture. Is capable of accurately identifying and building on the strengths of employees to better reach their potential. Is approachable and accessible in responding to staff's issues and concerns and provides supportive consultation and when needed. 12.
BACKUP:
Is fully acquainted with all the responsibilities of the therapist's duties and provides urgent, on-call, or back up clinical services as needed. 13.
DIRECT SERVICES
Provides up to 8 hours per week of direct, billable services to clients as needed. Initiates and coordinates OT projects for the betterment of the company. 14.
PETTY CASH
Monitors petty cash budget and materials budget for team. 15.
STUDENTS
Assists with training and establishing supervision plans and overseeing evaluation of students engaged in fieldwork experiences as needed. 16.
OTHER:
Performs other duties as assigned by the Occupational Therapy Manager. Bachelor's Degree (graduates of qualified Occupational Therapy program prior to 2004), Master's Degree or Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy. Successfully completed and graduated from an accredited entry-level occupational therapy program recognized by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education. Certified by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy. Currently licensed by the California Board of Occupational Therapy. Valid California Drivers License, good driving record, and must be able to drive to fulfill the duties of the position. Minimum two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred.
