Job Description

Our client, a meat processing and food manufacturing company, is looking for a Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) Auditor to join their team in Lathrop, CA. This role is responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with food safety and quality programs across regulatory, company, and customer requirements in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with FSQ II Auditors and the FSQ Manager to implement and monitor food safety and quality programs daily Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions Work alongside the Sanitation team to ensure proper execution of SSOPs and GMP requirements; conduct Pre-Operational and Operational plant inspections Prepare samples of finished products, raw materials, and environmental micro samples for internal analysis or coordination with third-party labs Complete the daily finished product release process and maintain organized FSQ documentation Review, enter, and manage data across FSQ spreadsheets, databases, and programs Support the FSQ Manager in preparing for internal and external audits (e.g., SQF, Hormel) Contribute to focused quality improvement projects and adhere to all company policies and procedures Perform additional duties as assigned by the FSQ Manager or plant management
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) in Food Science, Meat Science, or a related field 1 year of experience in Food Safety & Quality or equivalent school internship/program Working knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, SOPs, and SSOPs Understanding of USDA, OSHA, and FDA federal, state, and local requirements pertaining to meat processing Ability to perform analytical testing (micro, pH, residual oxygen, weight control, etc.) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); familiarity with project management tools a plus Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and critical thinking skills Excellent communication, time management, and attention to detail Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage high workloads across multiple disciplines Meat processing industry experience a plus

$22.00/hr

Monday-Friday | 10:00 AM - 6:30
PM Pay:
From $22.00 per hour
