Job Summary:
Leads the Environmental, Health and Safety team in the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of all company health, safety, environmental, and sustainability programs. Serves as a key leader and partner in strengthening EHS culture across the organization. This role is responsible for translating strategy into action, ensuring compliance, and driving engagement and accountability at all levels of the business
Essential Functions:
The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Leads the development and execution of EHS strategy and objectives, driving implementation and accountability across all locations
Partners with senior leaders and functional teams to implement EHS programs and drive ownership
Provides regular updates on EHS performance, key risks, and initiatives to executive leadership
Leads continuous improvement efforts across EHS processes, leveraging established methodologies
Coaches, develops, and mentors EHS team members, building both technical and leadership capability
Drives initiatives to strengthen EHS culture, focusing on engagement, consistency, and accountability
Represents the company in interactions with regulatory agencies and supports audits and inspections
Oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS policies, procedures, and training programs
Partners with internal teams, including Operations and Marketing, to support sustainability and EHS-related initiatives
Provides technical expertise and guidance to facilities and departments on regulatory compliance and risk mitigation
Supports sustainability programs, including emissions reduction, water stewardship, and waste reduction efforts
Leads incident investigations, root cause analysis, and ensures timely and effective corrective actions
Ensures EHS training programs are current, effective, and tracked through the Learning Management System
Oversees EHS compliance programs including IIPP, PSM, RMP, HMBP, and Emergency Action Plans
Partners with Engineering and Facilities to ensure contractor safety and compliance
Monitors, analyzes, and communicates EHS metrics to ensure visibility and informed decision making
Oversees internal audit programs and ensures timely follow up on corrective actions
Supports emergency response planning and crisis management readiness
Manages departmental budget and resources in support of EHS priorities
Builds team capability and supports development of future EHS leaders
Qualifications:
10 to 12+ years of Environmental, Health and Safety experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role within a manufacturing or processing environment Bachelor's degree required, degree in environmental, safety, or related field preferred Strong working knowledge of OSHA, Cal OSHA, and environmental regulations Proven ability to lead teams and influence stakeholders across the organization Strong organizational, problem solving, and follow through skills Effective communication and presentation skills Experience applying continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma Ability to work effectively across a diverse workforce and build strong relationships Demonstrated commitment to building an engaged and inclusive culture
Working Conditions:
Ability to lift up to 55 pounds Exposure to outdoor and variable environmental conditions May require physical activity such as lifting, bending, climbing, or extended standing May require flexibility in schedule, including occasional off hours or weekends Travel between company locations as needed
Salary Range:
$115,000.00 - $215,000.00 The starting pay will be based on several factors, including but not limited to experience, training, education, and geographic location.
