In this vital role, you will lead health and safety initiatives across large-scale construction projects, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and standards. Your expertise will help mitigate risks, protect workers, and promote a culture of safety excellence on demanding construction sites. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and continuously improve comprehensive health and safety policies tailored to heavy civil construction projects. Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards, ensure compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards, NEC (National Electrical Code), and other relevant regulations. Lead risk management efforts by assessing potential safety issues, implementing mitigation strategies, and monitoring their effectiveness throughout project phases. Oversee incident investigations, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Coordinate safety training sessions for all personnel, emphasizing OSHA requirements, workers' compensation procedures, and best practices in occupational health. Manage compliance documentation using construction management software to track safety metrics, inspections, and incident reports. Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to enforce safety protocols on-site and ensure construction site experience aligns with industry standards. Requirements Proven experience in construction management with a focus on health and safety within heavy civil or large-scale construction environments. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers' compensation processes, NEC standards, and compliance management practices. Demonstrated expertise in risk management techniques specific to construction sites. Familiarity with occupational health principles and EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) best practices. Experience utilizing construction management software for safety tracking and reporting purposes. Excellent communication skills to effectively train teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
