Job Description

Overview We are seeking a motivated Field Safety Coordinator to support and strengthen our workplace safety programs across our commercial construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional looking to grow their career — the ideal candidate will work closely with our Safety Manager and project teams to promote a strong safety culture, with opportunities to develop toward greater safety leadership responsibilities over time. The Field Safety Coordinator plays a key part in keeping our jobsites compliant, our crews protected, and our safety standards consistently applied. Duties Support the implementation and day-to-day enforcement of safety policies and procedures in accordance with Cal/OSHA Title 8 construction standards, applicable federal OSHA requirements, and company safety policies. Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections, walk-throughs, and audits to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are completed. Assist in delivering safety orientations, toolbox talks, and training for field employees and subcontractors, including topics such as fall protection, scaffolding, PPE, hot work, and emergency response. Help investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, document findings, and support the development of preventive measures. Maintain safety records, inspection logs, training documentation, and incident reports; assist in preparing reports for the Safety Manager and project leadership. Coordinate with project superintendents, foremen, and subcontractors to address safety concerns and reinforce safe work practices on active jobsites. Monitor compliance with site-specific safety plans, JHAs/AHAs, and applicable Cal/OSHA and EPA regulations. Assist with workers' compensation documentation and return-to-work coordination as needed. Stay current on changes in construction safety regulations and industry best practices. Perform field safety observations and document both positive safety practices and corrective actions. Follow up with project teams to verify that corrective actions are completed in a timely manner. Assist with maintaining site-specific safety binders, JHAs/AHAs, SDS access, training records, and required postings. Support respiratory protection, fit testing coordination, fall protection compliance, scaffold safety, ladder safety, MEWP safety, and heat illness prevention efforts. Participate in incident reviews, first-aid documentation, return-to-work communication, and workers' compensation follow-up as directed. Support Project Managers in gathering all safety documentations required for submittals. Experience & Qualifications 1-3 years of safety experience in commercial construction (general contractor or subcontractor environment preferred). Working knowledge of OSHA/Cal-OSHA construction standards and common jobsite hazards. OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required; OSHA 500, CHST, STSC, or similar credentials a plus. CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain). Comfortable working on active construction sites, including climbing ladders, walking uneven terrain, and spending significant time outdoors. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with field crews, subcontractors, and management. Proficient in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, Procore or similar construction management software a plus). Experience with Safety Reports, Procore, HammerTech, or similar safety/construction management platforms is preferred. Must be able to travel between project sites, offices, and company facilities as needed. Self-starter with a desire to grow into a Safety Manager role over time. We are looking for someone who takes pride in protecting their coworkers and is eager to learn and advance. If you have a foundation in construction safety and are ready for the next step in your career, we encourage you to apply.
