Full Job Description Field Safety Manager Role Function Summary:
The Safety Manager's role exists to promote and augment safety on jobsites to the highest level. To reach this level, the Safety Manager must work both independently and together with the ESCO Project Teams to create a safe workplace environment. Using extensive knowledge of OSHA Standards and State and Local Regulations, the Safety Manager will provide regular guidance and knowledge to the Project Teams and address any immediate hazards and understand and react to any potential hazardous exposures. This position will work to create a culture of safety within ESCO Construction.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for driving a safety culture which promotes Incident and Injury Free Performance. Provide a day-to-day Safety and Health support that is effective and suitable to achieve ESCO Construction objectives. Provide regular, reliable data for the purposes of monitoring Safety and Health performance. Participate in the development and review process of job Hazard Analysis (JHAs). Conduct effective investigation of incidents and near misses, develop final reports and follow up corrective actions. Conduct audits of the project site to verify compliance and identify unsafe conditions. Maintain documentation necessary to comply with the Site-Specific Safety Plan, OSHA, and other applicable regulations. Work with field superintendents/foreman to ensure safety policies and procedures are followed that help prevent accidents reoccurrences. Interact and communicate with general contractor and subcontractor safety personnel.
Qualifications:
Understanding of construction environment and risks present. Good comprehension of Health & Safety OSHA rules applicable to construction. Good Verbal and Written Communication Skills. Ability to use Microsoft Office Products including Outlook; Word; Power Point. Must be organized. Team player. Detail-oriented.
Education/Work Experience:
2 Year college degree (A.A or A.S) preferred. Minimum of 2 years construction experience with underground utilities and excavation required.
OSHA 500
certifications required. Board of Certified Safety Professionals CSP or CHST.
