Job Description
Position Overview:
The Safety & Risk Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for guests, staff, and vendors. This role combines proactive risk management, incident investigation, safety training, and on-site leadership. The position emphasizes strong cross-departmental collaboration, sound judgment, and a people-first approach. This individual is an influential and effective communicator who builds trust across all levels of the organization. They bring a positive, optimistic, and approachable presence, demonstrate empathy in challenging situations, and adapt quickly to changing circumstances. The role requires the ability to make thoughtful decisions even when limited information is available, while inspiring confidence and reinforcing a strong culture of safety.Key Responsibilities:
Safety Leadership & Risk Management- Identify safety risks
- Develop, review, and implement Emergency Action Plans across departments
- Partner with departments to implement corrective actions and improve safety practices
- Lead incident investigations, including root cause analysis for guest and employee incidents
- Collaborate with legal counsel on general liability claims as needed Code of Conduct & Incident Response
- Investigate Code of Conduct violations using reports, video, and witness statements
- Enforce policies with professionalism, empathy, and consistency
- Respond to emergencies with a calm, confident, and solutions-oriented approach Training & Development
- Identify safety training needs across departments and coordinate delivery
- Lead training in: o De-escalation and conflict resolution o Emergency response and crisis management o First aid, CPR, AED
- Promote a culture of safety awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Support leadership teams in improving emergency response capabilities Incident Reporting & Data Management
- Collect, track, and analyze incident reports
- Maintain accurate records and generate reports to identify trends
- Use data insights to recommend safety improvements and reduce recurring issues On-Site Presence & Customer Engagement
- Maintain visible presence through routine patrols and operational support
- Engage with guests and staff to build trust and reinforce a safe, respectful environment
- Address guest concerns with professionalism and strong customer service
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience in security, crime prevention, emergency management, risk management, de-escalation, crisis management or a related field.Certifications:
Ability to obtain first aid certification within 60 days of hire (CPR, AED, First Aid).Skills & Competencies:
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills; able to connect effectively with diverse groups Positive, approachable, and good-natured demeanor Ability to remain adaptable and effective in dynamic, changing conditions Sound judgment and decision-making skills, including the ability to act confidently with limited information Demonstrates empathy, professionalism, and emotional intelligence in sensitive situations Strong crisis management and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication and organizational skills High level of integrity and confidentialityWorking Conditions:
Schedule Tuesday - Saturday 2pm -9:30pm This position requires work outdoors, including during inclement weather conditions, and involves physically demanding tasks such as long periods of standing/walking. Evening and weekend work.- This position requires office / supervisory work.
