Job Description:
A global chemical manufacturing company is looking to appoint an EHS Site Manager to oversee the EHS function at one of their key locations in the Danbury CT area. The EHS Site Manager will be a key part of the site leadership team and will act as the EHS subject matter expert for this location.
The Role:
Develop, implement, manage, and maintain comprehensive environmental safety & health programs on-premises. Provide safety training for new hires and existing employees on policies, regulations, and procedures. Advise site management team on safety and compliance for specific projects and operations. Collaborate with management to develop and maintain a site-based Emergency Action Plan. Act as primary contact for site injury, incident notification, investigation, and case management. Lead process improvement initiatives. Analyze incident reports, metrics, and injury case studies to institute changes that lead to a safer environment. Conduct safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance and then evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow-up assessments.
The Candidate:
Bachelor's degree in EHS management or relevant work experience in EH&S 3+ years of experience ideally in chemical or pharma manufacturing environment Strong leadership, people management, and develop skills in an industrial environment Experience in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment preferred Must possess effective interpersonal and communication abilities
