This role serves as a key technical resource and subject matter expert, supporting operations leadership in fostering a safe and compliant work environment. Key Responsibilities Lead environmental permitting and compliance activities across North America Conduct and oversee on-site environmental audits Direct health and safety compliance programs Develop and implement EHS standards, policies, and best practices Identify compliance gaps and drive corrective actions Monitor, analyze, and report on safety and health performance Coordinate data collection and ensure accurate reporting for operations Act as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, industry groups, and professional organizations Stay current on evolving EHS regulations, legislation, and emerging technologies, ensuring organizational awareness and compliance Partner with product development teams to ensure all new products meet applicable EHS standards and regulatory requirements Lead root cause investigations for incidents and compliance gaps Implement timely and effective corrective and preventive actions Oversee EHS training programs to ensure workforce competency and long-term compliance Support business initiatives by evaluating EHS impacts of new projects, process changes, and growth opportunities Manage vendor selection and performance related to EHS services Contribute to EHS goal setting and promote a culture of continuous improvement Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of EHS management experience within a chemical or process manufacturing environment Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety Sciences, EHS, or a related discipline Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation preferred Demonstrated success in developing and driving behavior-based safety programs Strong working knowledge of U.S. federal and state EHS regulations and regulatory agencies Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% within the United States Occasional international travel as required
