The EHS Manager for Unicorr will be responsible for managing the day-to-day and long-term EHS activities for all manufacturing operations at multiple plant sites located within CT, NY, VT, MA, and PA. This position will be responsible for ensuring the plants are aligned with corporate initiatives and priorities related to EHS. Furthermore, the EHS Manager interfaces directly with community leaders and regulatory agencies at each location, representing the manufacturing facility within the community and regions we operate.The Job You Will Perform:
Develop, implement, and maintain effective systems, procedures, and training to achieve an accident-free and environmental incident-free facility. Integrate continuous improvement and drive employee engagement to achieve desired results. Ensure work practices comply with local state requirements, and company standards, are fully in place and supported. Implement programs to identify and reduce risk from hazards. Manage safety initiative progress and tracking systems including, but not limited to: Injury Prevention Top five, (5), hazard identification and remediation Critical health and safety program gap closures Lead in the development of Environmental Management System procedures including, but not limited to, water, air, and solid & hazardous waste management. Actively communicate to each Unicorr facility the safety requirements, and procedures conveyed from the corporate office. Will work with our insurance broker and workers compensation carrier on loss control and claims. Manage all regulatory reporting requirements and permitting processes. Develop safety and environmental leaders and mentor the coordinators, working through operations and maintenance teams. Create and reinforce a safety culture that encourages the proactive identification of safety solutions with the desired goal of building a learning culture. Manage learning events with continuous improvement in mind. Work to ensure the safety and health of our team. Assist with managing public reporting ( EcoVadis & CDP ) Perform incident investigations with root cause and corrective actions. Manage customer requests for EHS data related to our performance. Will work with our sustainability consultant to drive overall improvement in our sustainability initiatives.The Skills You Will Bring:
Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, occupational health and safety or related field preferred 10+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing and environmental areas Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations; expert knowledge preferred Experience in corrugated packaging a plus.Desired Competencies:
