Job Description

The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) is seeking a strategic, creative, and highly organized Communications Manager to support the organization's Financial Trader Health and Safety Initiative. This position will lead all communications efforts focused on emerging financial products, trading platforms, prediction markets, and the intersection of financial trading and gambling-related harm. This role will lead the development and implementation of consumer-facing initiatives designed to educate and increase public awareness, improve understanding of trading-related risks, promote informed decision-making, and encourage early help-seeking behaviors. The Communications Manager will create educational campaigns, digital content, and outreach strategies that translate complex financial, behavioral health, and public policy topics into clear, engaging, and actionable information for diverse audiences. In doing so, this role will help position NCPG as a national leader in consumer protection and harm prevention across evolving financial trading environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong public health communication and storytelling skills, experience managing behavior-change and awareness campaigns, and a demonstrated ability to create content that resonates with consumers across digital and out-of-home (OOH) channels. Experience working in the financial services and trading industry is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Health Education, Behavioral Science, Journalism, Marketing, Public Health, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in communications, public health education, health communications, prevention programming, consumer education, nonprofit communications, or a related field.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience developing educational campaigns and content for public audiences.
  • Experience translating complex topics into clear, practical, and accessible information.
  • Strong understanding of social media strategy, digital engagement, and analytics.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Experience with Canva, Constant Contact, LinkedIn campaigns, and project management systems such as Asana preferred.
  • Familiarity with gambling-related harm, addiction, prevention education, financial services, sports betting, prediction markets, behavioral health, or consumer protection issues is strongly preferred.
