Warehouse Safety Supervisor NFI Industries - 3.1 Auburndale, FL Job Details Full-time 7 hours ago Qualifications Employee relationship building Full Job Description The Warehouse Safety Supervisor is responsible for leading all on-site safety, training, and compliance activities for the facility. This role has a primary focus on the hiring, onboarding, and training of all new forklift operators, development of operator skill progression, and direct coordination of the site's certified forklift trainers. The Safety Supervisor oversees the facility sanitation program, including supervision of the custodial team, ensuring the warehouse meets all sanitation, housekeeping, and audit standards. This role conducts daily/weekly/monthly safety audits, PITCO observations, equipment pre-flight compliance, and supports the Safety/Quality Manager in incident investigations, regulatory compliance, training documentation, and continuous improvement of the site safety culture. This position reports directly to the Site Safety/Quality Manager. Forklift Operator Training & Onboarding Participate in the full hiring and onboarding cycle for all new forklift operators, including: Initial screening for experience/skill MHE safety orientation & hands-on forklift evaluation Certifying and documenting all PIT operator training Manage, schedule, and develop the site forklift trainers, ensuring consistent training quality and adherence to all PIT policies. Maintain and update all MHE certification files and qualification records. Conduct retraining, progressive training, and corrective coaching after incidents or PITCO violations. Partner with Operations to plan and execute training schedules and ongoing skill development. Facility Sanitation Oversight Supervise and direct the sanitation team. Ensure daily/weekly/monthly facility sanitation tasks are completed to internal and customer standards. Conduct sanitation audits, housekeeping inspections, and partner with Operations on corrective actions. Maintain sanitation logs, documentation, and audit readiness. Safety Audits, Compliance & Observations Conduct regular (daily/weekly/monthly) warehouse safety audits, inspections, and PITCO observations to ensure compliance with OSHA, company policy, and customer requirements. Verify completion of all equipment pre-flights, harness inspections, MHE compliance, and other required checks. Track and maintain OSHA logs, training records, and safety performance documentation. Assist in incident investigations, compiling reports, determining root causes, and recommending corrective actions. Support annual audits, customer inspections, and regulatory reviews. Safety Training & Communication Facilitate monthly OSHA training, new-hire safety orientation, and ongoing safety meetings for warehouse associates and leadership. Provide safety coaching to operators and supervisors; reinforce safe behaviors through active floor presence. Maintain training rosters, sign-in sheets, and ensure training record accuracy. Partner with Operations and HR to address safety-related performance concerns or behavioral issues. Leadership & Collaboration Serve as the primary safety liaison between Operations, HR, Maintenance, and the Safety/Quality Manager. Support Operations leadership with safety communication during pre-shift huddles. Provide strong leadership presence on the warehouse floor and model safe behavior. Build and maintain strong relationships with warehouse supervisors, managers, and frontline associates. 1-3 years of safety-related experience in distribution, warehousing, or manufacturing. Experience operating and/or training on powered industrial trucks Strong understanding of OSHA standards and warehouse safety practices. Ability to deliver training, coach associates, and influence safe behavior. Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal). Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adjust schedule as business needs require. Preferred Qualifications OSHA certifications (OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or equivalent). Experience supervising teams (sanitation staff, trainers, or operators). Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Experience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective action plans. Familiarity with MHE operations, warehouse systems, and safety documentation. Physical & Environmental Requirements Ability to stand/walk for extended periods (up to 10-12 hours depending on shift). Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally. Ability to work in variable warehouse temperatures, noise levels, and conditions. Must be able to work a varied work schedule.
