C a t egory En v ironmental, Health, & Safety J ob Location 10 4 07 Centurion Parkway N, Suite 110, Jacksonville, Florida A dd itional Locations 62 0 SW 4th Avenue, Gainesville, Florida P os ition Type Fu l l-Time/Regular A s a 'National ENR Top 25 General Contractor' that values its employees and fosters a positive and supportive culture, Whiting-Turner is seeking a qualified environmental, health and safety manager for various commercial projects in a fast paced, entrepreneurial, team-based working environment. Q u alified candidates shall possess 3 to 20+ years of experience in EH&S management, preferably in a similar industry and 5+ years of continuous experience in construction safety. This role requires oversight of environmental, health, and safety programs within an organization or construction project. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, promotes a culture of safety, and minimizes environmental impact. The EH&S Manager is also tasked with reducing workplace accidents, enhancing employee health and safety, and ensuring environmental sustainability practices are followed. T h e following experience and skill set are preferred:
  • chelor of Science degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety and Health Management, Safety Management, or equivalent.
  • rtifications in Environmental, Health, and Safety to include (e.g., OSHA 500, CHST, ASP/GSP Designation) is required.

  • E vironmental management K e y responsibilities for this role include:
  • velop, implement, and enforce safety programs to comply with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards, environmental laws, and regulations.
  • sure all company activities meet or exceed environmental, health, and safety requirements and standards.
  • nitor and interpret regulatory changes to ensure the organization remains compliant with evolving laws and guidelines.
  • nduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential safety hazards and environmental impacts.
  • commend improvements to reduce hazards, risks, and the environmental footprint.
  • tablish safety procedures and emergency response plans for various workplace incidents (fires, chemical spills, accidents).
  • velop and conduct safety and environmental training programs for employees to promote safety awareness and proper safety practices.
  • sure all employees are trained on emergency procedures, hazard communication, personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe handling of materials.
  • ep track of employee certifications and safety training schedules.
  • vestigate accidents, injuries, and near-misses to determine their root causes and develop corrective actions.
  • sure timely reporting of incidents to regulatory authorities as required.
  • intain records of workplace injuries, incidents, and safety training for compliance and audits.
  • velop and implement sustainable environmental practices, including waste management, recycling programs, and energy conservation efforts.
  • omote environmentally friendly practices and ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
  • ersee the safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials and ensure proper waste management systems are in place.
  • nitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs, procedures, and environmental controls.
  • rk with management to implement improvements based on audit results, incident trends, and employee feedback.
  • ay updated with industry best practices and implement strategies to improve overall safety and environmental performance.
  • intain up-to-date documentation of safety audits, inspections, training, and incident reports.
  • epare and present regular reports to management on safety performance, incident trends, and compliance status.
  • sure all necessary records and documentation are prepared for regulatory inspections and audits.
  • rk closely with management and other departments to integrate EH&S practices into day-to-day operations.
  • llaborate with external agencies, regulatory bodies, and contractors to ensure safety and environmental standards are maintained.

  • velop, implement, and oversee emergency response plans for various workplace scenarios.
  • ordinate drills, including fire drills, evacuation plans, and first aid training, to ensure employees are prepared for emergencies. S a lary Range
  • The base salary range for this position represents the Company's good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of posting and is dependent on a number of factors including but not limited to role, level, relevant education, experience, training, skills and abilities, location, and market and business considerations.
Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of the various factor identified above. The foregoing information reflects base salary only and does not include other forms of available compensation to which employees may be entitled including but not limited to profit sharing, appreciation rights, retirement compensation, travel subsistence, holiday contribution, vacation, sick leave, parental leave, healthcare (including dental and vision benefits), life insurance, disability insurance, and other compensations/benefits, which are dependent upon various factors including but not limited to years of service, location, performance, etc. Th e annual base salary range listed is subject to change at any time, in the Company's discretion, and does not alter in any way the at-will nature of the employment relationship.
