Job Summary and Qualifications The Patient Safety Director is responsible for facilitating the transition from a retrospective, reactive model for risk management to a prospective, proactive loss prevention, harm reducing patient safety program. Promotes a culture of safety. Directs others within the facility towards process improvements that support the elimination of medical/health care errors and other factors that contribute to unintended adverse patient outcomes. Initiates and oversees the development of a comprehensive patient safety improvement program inclusive of the analysis and trending of data. This position demonstrates a high degree of responsibility, accountability and autonomy.

What qualifications you will need:

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, or related field, required Master's Degree, preferred 3 years experience in a position dedicated to either Patient Safety, Risk, or Qualityclinical education experience responsible for the development, implementation and delivery of clinincal education programs, required 3 years bedside nursing experience in acute care setting, preferred Previous management experience, preferred RN with current Florida licensure Required (or) Recognized Compact Licensure (Subject to FL State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility & Duration provisions), required Certification in Patient Safety (CPPS), required If not already CPPS, must complete the following: CPPS Examination must be taken within 90 days of hire CPPS Certification must be achieved within 12 months from date of hire. CPHRM, required If not already CPHRM, must complete the following: CPHRM Examination must be taken within 90 days of hire CPHRM Certification must be achieved within 12 months from date of hire.
