Description:
Position Summary The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the company's health and safety programs to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This role promotes a culture of safety across all job sites and company operations by proactively identifying risks, conducting training, and ensuring adherence to company safety standards and OSHA requirements. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain company safety policies, procedures, and programs. Ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable safety regulations and standards. Conduct regular job site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards. Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and workers' compensation claims, and implement corrective actions. Manage relationships and performance of external safety vendors, including training providers, compliance consultants, drug testing providers, PPE suppliers, and other safety-related service partners to ensure quality, compliance, and cost effectiveness. Coordinate and manage third-party safety vendors and consultants, including site inspections, training programs, compliance support, drug testing, and specialized safety services. Lead and coordinate safety training programs, orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing employee education. Maintain accurate safety records, reports, OSHA logs, and documentation. Partner with project managers, superintendents, and field leadership to promote safe work practices. Monitor subcontractor compliance with company safety requirements. Develop corrective action plans and follow up to ensure resolution of safety concerns. Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related matters, inspections, and regulatory agencies. Assist with emergency response planning and incident management. Analyze safety trends and recommend strategies to reduce incidents and improve overall safety performance. Support return-to-work and injury management programs as needed. Promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization.
Requirements:
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of safety management experience, preferably in construction, HVAC, mechanical contracting, or related industries. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards. OSHA 30 certification required;
OSHA 500
preferred. CPR/First Aid certification preferred. Experience conducting investigations, safety audits, and training programs. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to work in both office and field environments. Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems. Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to job sites as needed. Work Environment This position requires regular travel to construction and service job sites and interaction with employees, subcontractors, and leadership teams in both office and field settings. Preferred Certifications Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
OSHA 500/510
First Aid/CPR/AED Certification Basic understanding of budgeting and cost management. Other Requirements Willingness to travel to job sites as needed. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with local building codes and HVAC industry standards. Experience working with subcontractors and managing supplier relationships. Knowledge of sustainable and energy-efficient HVAC systems. Procore proficiency.
