JOB OVERVIEW
The Safety Manager will assist in the oversight of the safety management systems within the organization to identify and act on continuous improvement opportunities to achieve and maintain regulatory compliance, accident prevention and safety excellence.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Complete site inspections at all company operations to ensure compliance with applicable Local, State and Federal regulations including OSHA, DOT, EPA and industry best practices for Loss Control, Security and Property Loss Prevention. 2. Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures in the workplace to maintain a strong safety culture. 3. Participate in safety committee meetings and conduct presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention. 4. Monitor compliance at each operation and make the appropriate adjustments as necessary to meet or exceed goals and objectives. 5. Investigate accidents, incidents or near-misses to identify contributing factors and implement corrective action. 6. Recommend solutions to safety issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures. 7. Monitor for any applicable regulatory updates/changes that would impact our company and communicate to all locations. 8. Collect updated information from all locations to develop and communicate internal safety summary reports for management to review. 9. Partnership with Operations, Quality, Legal and Human Resources. 10. Maintain safety files and records in accordance with company and/or regulatory retention requirements. 11. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common information, reports and other documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or company representatives. Ability to effectively present information to management.PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Field positions will be exposed to various unfamiliar conditions where Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn and which may include, but are not limited to: manufacturing and warehouse plants, and other venues as directed by supervisor. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but increases significantly in warehouse and manufacturing plants.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 5 - 7 years' safety experience in a manufacturing, warehousing and route delivery environments, preferably in food or beverage operations. Knowledge of OSHA, HAZMAT and DOT regulations applicable to our operations. Understanding of health and safety guidelines and experience auditing manufacturing, warehousing and route delivery facilities to determine compliance. Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment. Excellent organizational and motivational skills. Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability. Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities. BS/BA in safety management or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer skills necessary to compile reports and communicate to executive and management levels. Must be able and willing to travel up to 50% of the year.
