The Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety programs to ensure a safe and compliant work environment across all Del Zotto Products facilities. This role requires a proactive leader who can collaborate with various departments to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other regulatory agencies. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards. Lead incident investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective actions. Provide safety training and orientation to employees at all levels. Monitor and report on safety performance metrics. Work closely with Human Resources for workers' compensation claims and you will coordinate return-to-work programs and/or duty restrictions. Collaborate with management to integrate safety into operational processes. Maintain safety documentation, including OSHA logs, inspection reports, and training records, etc. Stay current with our industry's best practices and regulatory changes. Monitor cameras on our Truck Fleet and record/report any negative driving instances. Fleet & Ready-Mix Transportation Experience Extensive knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and Florida transportation regulations as they relate to commercial vehicle operations and ready-mix concrete delivery fleets. Experience managing CDL compliance and vehicle inspection programs. Proven ability to oversee fleet safety initiatives, driver coaching programs, accident investigations, and corrective action plans. Experience monitoring and analyzing in/out-cab camera systems to improve driver performance and reduce liability. Ability to conduct fleet safety audits and prepare for DOT inspections, compliance reviews, and regulatory audits. Experience developing and delivering driver safety training focused on defensive driving, load securement, vehicle inspections, and accident prevention. Knowledge of ready-mix concrete operations, heavy truck safety, and challenges associated with concrete delivery, plant operations, and construction jobsite environments is strongly preferred. Demonstrated success maintaining regulatory compliance while supporting efficient fleet and transportation operations. Qualifications:
Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in safety management within a construction manufacturing or industrial environment. In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management systems. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Certification in OSHA 30-Hour, OSHA 10-Hour preferred but not required. Commercial Vehicle Driving Regulations and DOT Regulations required. CPR/First Aid certification (required or willing to obtain). Experience with powered industrial equipment safety and forklift training (preferred). Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform site inspections in industrial environments. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and use necessary safety and inspection equipment.
