Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Patient Safety Observer, a vital role committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of patients during their care journey. In this dynamic position, you will serve as a vigilant presence, monitoring patient activity and providing support to healthcare professionals to prevent incidents and promote a secure environment. This paid position offers an opportunity to contribute directly to patient safety while gaining valuable experience in healthcare settings. Your proactive approach and attentive nature will help create a safe, compassionate space for patients receiving care. Responsibilities Maintain constant visual observation of assigned patients to promptly identify any safety concerns or behavioral changes Assist healthcare staff with patient care activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed during procedures or transfers Monitor patient environments for potential hazards or risks, reporting issues immediately to the appropriate team members Support patients by providing reassurance, answering basic questions, and ensuring their comfort during their stay Document observations accurately and thoroughly in accordance with hospital policies and procedures Respond swiftly to emergency situations or behavioral escalations, following established safety protocols Collaborate with clinical staff to implement individualized safety plans for high-risk patients Qualifications Prior experience in home & community care or hospital settings is highly desirable Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain it prior to employment Demonstrated ability in patient care, including attentive observation and compassionate communication Experience working in critical care transport or emergency environments is a plus Strong awareness of safety procedures and risk management in healthcare environments Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods during shifts Join us in making a meaningful difference by safeguarding patient well-being through vigilant observation and compassionate support. Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
