Job Description

Openwater Seafood LLC is seeking an experienced and motivated Safety & Training Supervisor to lead workplace safety initiatives, employee training programs, and Workers' Compensation administration within our seafood processing facility. The ideal candidate is fully bilingual in English and Spanish, possesses a strong safety background in manufacturing, food processing, warehouse, or industrial environments, and has a passion for developing employees while maintaining a safe and compliant workplace. This position plays a key role in promoting a strong safety culture, reducing workplace injuries, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering effective training programs throughout the organization.

$65,000 annually +
Monthly Performance Bonus Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM, with occasional Saturdays as needed
Job Type:
Full-Time, On-Site Essential ResponsibilitiesSafety Leadership Lead and promote a proactive safety culture throughout the facility. Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and workplace observations. Identify hazards and implement corrective and preventive actions. Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses. Maintain OSHA logs and safety documentation. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, GMPs, and food safety requirements. Develop and implement safety initiatives to reduce injuries and improve workplace safety performance. Partner with supervisors and managers to address safety concerns and drive continuous improvement. Workers' Compensation Administration Manage Workers' Compensation claims from initial reporting through claim resolution. Coordinate medical appointments, follow-up care, and return-to-work programs. Communicate with insurance carriers, medical providers, employees, and management regarding claims. Maintain accurate Workers' Compensation records and documentation. Assist in incident investigations and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence. Monitor restricted duty and transitional work assignments. Training & Employee Development Conduct safety onboarding. Develop and deliver safety training programs in both English and Spanish. Conduct refresher training and compliance training as required. Maintain employee training records and certifications. Evaluate training effectiveness and identify additional development needs. Create presentations, training materials, and educational resources. Administrative Responsibilities Prepare safety reports, metrics, and training reports. Track safety KPIs and training completion rates. Support regulatory inspections and audits. Qualifications Bilingual (English and Spanish) required. Minimum of 2 years of experience in Safety, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Occupational Safety, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience managing Workers' Compensation claims and return-to-work programs. Experience conducting employee training and safety presentations. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices. Experience in manufacturing, food processing, seafood processing, warehouse, or industrial environments preferred. Excellent communication, leadership, and coaching skills. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications
OSHA 10, OSHA
30, or other safety certifications. Experience with food manufacturing, seafood processing, or cold-storage environments. Experience supporting food safety and GMP compliance programs. Knowledge of incident investigation and root cause analysis methodologies.
