Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Transportation Safety Manager to oversee, develop, and enforce safety protocols across our fleet operations. In this role, you will be the primary guardian of our safety culture, ensuring strict compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations, while proactively training our drivers and minimizing risk.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance:
Ensure full company compliance with state and federal transportation regulations, including FMCSA, DOT, and OSHA. Monitor and manage company CSA (Compliance, Safety, Accountability) scores.
Driver Training:
Lead driver onboarding, orientation, and continuous safety training programs. Conduct regular safety meetings and coaching sessions.
Audits & Records:
Maintain accurate driver qualification (DQ) files, review Hours of Service (HOS) logs via ELD systems, and conduct regular terminal and equipment inspections.
Incident Management:
Lead all accident and injury investigations. Perform root-cause analysis, manage the crash reporting process.
Shop Safety Oversight:
Direct and enforce safety protocols within the maintenance facility, ensuring a secure working environment for all mechanics and shop technicians.
Facility OSHA Compliance:
Manage shop-specific OSHA regulations, including Hazard Communication (HazCom), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and safe operation of vehicle lifts and heavy machinery.
Facility Inspections:
Conduct regular, documented safety walks through the shop and terminal to proactively identify, report, and mitigate physical hazards or unsafe practices.
Culture:
Act as a mentor and resource for drivers and operational staff, promoting a proactive, "safety-first" mindset across the organization. Competitive pay based on experience and benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, and various supplemental plans available, Paid Sick days
