As a leader in safety and security, you will play a critical role in creating a safe, welcoming, and prepared environment for our guests, staff, volunteers, and animals while supporting a world-class Zoo experience dedicated to saving wildlife in wild places. Essential Functions Safety & Security Leadership Supervise, train, schedule, and support the Zoo Ranger (Security) team. Oversee daily security operations, command center functions, security logs, and follow-up. Support development of the Zoo's security master plan, surveillance systems, and emergency response procedures. Coordinate with law enforcement, fire rescue, emergency management, and other external agencies. Assist with critical incident response and emergency preparedness efforts. Safety Programs & Compliance Develop and facilitate Zoo-wide occupational health and safety training programs. Support and help lead the Zoo's Safety Committee and safety culture initiatives. Ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable safety regulations. Conduct incident investigations, reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective action follow-up. Assist with workers' compensation and general liability claims management in partnership with HR. Operational Support Oversee first aid station supplies and provide first aid support and training. Assist with key control, access systems, alarms, and security camera maintenance. Support event traffic and operational safety planning. Qualifications Associate degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Minimum 5 years of experience in safety, security, or emergency operations. Previous experience supervising security personnel required. Knowledge of OSHA reporting and workplace safety compliance. Firearms experience preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Valid driver's license required. What We're Looking For Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
