Job Description

Job Summary The Sr Manager of Safety, Risk and Quality Assurance is responsible for leading and overseeing all safety, damage prevention, compliance and insurance-related functions within the operation. This role ensures regulatory compliance, minimizes risk exposure, reduces cargo damage, and promotes a culture of safety across drivers, dispatch and operations teams. Duties Lead and manage the company's safety department, ensuring compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and all applicable federal and state regulations Manage all trucking insurance programs including liability, cargo, physical damage, and workers' compensation Lead the damage prevention department with focus on minimizing vehicle transport damage Maintain satisfactory safety ratings and ensure audit readiness (DOT, insurance, internal) Oversee claims reporting, processing, and resolution to minimize financial exposure Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies, procedures, and training programs Conduct accident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning Analyze loss trends and implement strategies to reduce frequency and severity Establish inspection protocols (pre-load, in-transit, delivery) to ensure vehicle condition accuracy Supervise and mentor safety, risk, and quality assurance personnel Serve as primary point of contact with insurance carriers, brokers, and claims adjusters Monitor driver performance, HOS compliance, and fleet safety metrics using Samsara ELD Qualifications Bachelor's degree; advanced degrees preferred. Risk assessment and mitigation Claims management and insurance coordination Data analysis and reporting Leadership and team management Process improvement and operational efficiency Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Pay:
$145,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year
