This pivotal role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety programs that ensure compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards, NEC (National Electrical Code), workers' compensation regulations, and other relevant safety protocols. The Safety Director will champion a culture of safety excellence, mitigate risks through effective risk management strategies, and foster a safe working environment on construction sites. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence safety practices at a strategic level while supporting operational success. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and oversee company-wide safety policies aligned with OSHA, NEC, and industry best practices to ensure regulatory compliance across all construction activities. Conduct thorough risk assessments on construction sites to identify hazards and establish mitigation measures proactively. Lead incident investigations, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to integrate safety management into daily operations using construction management software tools. Coordinate occupational health initiatives, including ergonomic assessments, injury prevention programs, and wellness strategies for workers. Manage workers' compensation claims process efficiently while maintaining detailed records for compliance management purposes. Provide ongoing safety training sessions for employees, contractors, and site visitors to promote awareness and adherence to safety standards. Monitor construction site conditions regularly through inspections, CCTV surveillance, fence checks, and yard audits to uphold the highest safety standards. Stay current with evolving regulations related to EHS (Environmental Health & Safety), OSHA requirements, and industry trends to ensure continuous improvement of safety programs. Experience Proven experience in construction management with a strong focus on safety leadership within large-scale projects or organizations. Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations, NEC codes, workers' compensation procedures, and compliance management practices. Demonstrated expertise in risk management techniques specific to the construction industry. Familiarity with occupational health principles and implementing ergonomic or injury prevention initiatives on construction sites. Proficiency in using construction management software for safety documentation, reporting, and compliance tracking. At least several years of hands-on construction site experience coupled with leadership roles in safety program development or implementation. Strong communication skills capable of training diverse teams while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement in safety practices.
