5 Cedar Rapids, IA Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Management Productivity software Cross-functional collaboration Cross-functional team management Cross-functional communication Full Job Description SUMMARY The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving a comprehensive safety program across Raining Rose facilities. This individual ensures compliance with all applicable OSHA and regulatory standards, drives a proactive safety culture, and serves as the primary point of contact for all health and safety matters. The ideal candidate brings hands-on industrial safety experience, strong leadership skills, and a genuine commitment to protecting our people and operations To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(include but are not limited to the following) Safety Program Development & Compliance Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety programs, policies, and procedures tailored to industrial plant operations. Ensure all operations meet or exceed OSHA and applicable state/federal safety regulations; maintain all required safety records and documentation. Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies; manage audits and address compliance issues promptly. Maintain
OSHA 300
logs, SDS files, and all Health & Safety records. Lead and participate in internal and social compliance audits. Risk Assessment & Incident Management Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend mitigation strategies. Lead thorough investigations of all incidents, near-misses, and injuries
  • identifying root causes and driving corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Maintain accurate records of incidents, investigations, corrective actions, and required testing. Identify and correct unsafe behaviors, acts, or working conditions through regular facility walkthroughs and safety audits. Training & Safety Culture Design and deliver safety training programs, including new-hire orientation. Conduct quarterly safety trainings and maintain all associated records. Lead the safety committee and foster a strong culture of safety awareness through ongoing communication and engagement initiatives. Develop visitor safety protocols and ensure all contractors are trained on relevant safety requirements. PPE & Equipment Management Coordinate with vendors to evaluate, procure, and maintain PPE products. Train personnel on the proper use of all safety equipment, including respiratory PPE; manage fit testing and equipment tracking. Oversee emergency action plans, coordinate drills, and ensure all personnel are prepared for emergency scenarios. Reporting & Continuous Improvement Prepare and present regular safety reports to management summarizing key performance indicators, incident trends, and program effectiveness. Train, document, and monitor compliance for Job Safety Analyses (JSAs). Recommend and implement process improvements to increase safety and operational efficiencies. Maintain a firm understanding of and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Practices. REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional and proactive approach. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with sound, independent judgment. Ability to lead, influence, and collaborate across cross-functional teams. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with safety management software is a plus. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with discretion.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Minimum 1 year of experience in an industrial or manufacturing safety role required; 3+ years strongly preferred. Proven track record managing safety programs in a regulated, fast-paced environment. In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and occupational health and safety compliance requirements.
