This position will be part of the key operating team and will be responsible and accountable for developing the Quality Assurance Programs.Essential Responsibilities Include:
Operational Support Maintain daily floor presence to identify risks, coach teams, and support real-time decision making. Provide timely disposition decisions on holds, deviations, startup approvals, and changeover releases. Partner with Operations to reduce downtime, waste, and recurring quality losses. Own and report site quality KPIs including complaints, holds, defects, sanitation findings, CAPA completion, and audit scores. Use trend analysis and data to identify recurring issues and drive corrective action responses. Lead complaint investigations, root cause analysis, and customer corrective action responses. Ensure code dating, label accuracy, Packaging integrity, allergen controls, and product specifications are met. Lead mock recalls and traceability exercises. Develop QA supervisors, technicians, coordinators, and sanitation leadership. Drive accountability, urgency, and ownership within the department. Build training systems and succession plans for key quality positions. Plant Sanitation Lead all plant sanitation programs including master sanitation schedules, pre-operational inspections, environmental monitoring, and cleaning verification. Ensure plant readiness for internal, customer, and third-party sanitation audits.Qualifications Include:
Strong leadership presence in a manufacturing environment Ability to make sound decisions under pressure Strong data analysis and reporting skills Experience managing sanitation programs Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Planning Strong conflict resolution and coaching ability Bachelor's degree in Food Science or Microbiology or related field preferred; 5-7 years leadership experience in multiple types of food processing, preferably in the food packaging and processing industry; GFSI scheme experience preferred.Similar jobs in Hiawatha, IA
