Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Site Safety Manager to support a large‑scale paper and packaging manufacturing new‑build project in Waterloo, IA, adjacent to multiple active data center builds. This role will be fully onsite and highly visible, requiring someone who can confidently communicate safety requirements, coordinate with experienced safety personnel, and work directly with clients and trade partners in a fast‑moving construction environment. The ideal candidate is a strong field safety professional who understands construction workflows, can navigate competing hazards, and brings a collaborative, solutions‑driven approach. This is a 3-4 month contract with the potential to continue on future projects and travel with the project team to upcoming sites. Day‑to‑Day
  • Serve as on‑site safety presence for a large‑scale new‑build project
  • Communicate safety expectations clearly to contractors and client teams
  • Provide safety training, guidance, and field‑level support
  • Respond to competing hazards and changing site conditions
  • Coordinate closely with two existing site safety professionals
  • Identify, communicate, and carefully implement corrective actions
  • Support hot work activities and ongoing construction phases (trenching largely complete)

  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • OSHA 510
    Certification
  • 5+ years of construction safety experience (Open to 3+ years with a strong safety record)
  • Strong construction safety background (manufacturing experience helpful but does not replace construction experience)
  • CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain; training available)
  • CHST or similar safety credential
  • Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders (clients, trade partners, internal teams)
  • Paper, packaging, or heavy manufacturing project experience
  • Procore familiarity (used heavily on site)
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English preferred, not required)
  • Ability to travel with project teams to future sites (including potential MS site)
