This individual will lead implementation of site-specific safety initiatives, provide guidance to project teams, and ensure compliance with applicable health and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Lead and administer project safety programs for field personnel, trade partners, vendors, and other site stakeholders. Partner with project leadership to identify potential hazards and develop proactive strategies to reduce risk and prevent incidents. Coordinate and deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, training sessions, and other educational programs to reinforce company safety expectations. Develop, review, and monitor Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for major construction activities and verify appropriate training is completed. Perform routine jobsite inspections and comprehensive safety audits using company-approved software platforms. Identify unsafe conditions or behaviors and work with project teams to implement corrective actions. Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses while maintaining accurate documentation and reporting procedures. Support injured employees through required medical evaluation and post-incident protocols. Provide guidance on industrial hygiene, environmental monitoring, and exposure control practices as needed. Manage and issue specialized work permits, including activities involving hot work, confined spaces, critical lifting operations, and other high-risk tasks. Participate in regulatory, insurance, and client safety inspections and assist with follow-up actions. Monitor changes to safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance. Assist with documentation and response efforts related to regulatory inspections or citations. Perform additional safety-related duties in support of project and company objectives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred. Approximately 2-6 years of construction safety experience or a comparable combination of education and field experience. Working knowledge of OSHA construction standards, applicable regulatory requirements, and jobsite safety best practices. Ability to recognize hazardous conditions, evaluate risk, and implement effective corrective measures. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with construction management and safety documentation software. Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced construction environments with multiple priorities and deadlines. Capable of exercising sound judgment and making independent decisions regarding jobsite safety matters. CHST certification preferred. OSHA 30-hour training required; First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications must be obtained within a designated onboarding period if not currently held. Valid driver's license and ability to travel between project sites as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to walk active construction sites for extended periods. Frequent standing, climbing stairs and ladders, and navigating uneven terrain. Ability to work in varying outdoor conditions and active construction environments.
