Job Description

Safety Supervisor Lindblad Construction
Joliet, Illinois Position Description:
The Safety Supervisor is responsible for maintaining, implementing, and documenting the company's safety program. He/she must be able to enforce government and client requirements and standards on many construction sites. The key focus of the Safety Supervisor is to mitigate and communicate safety incidents such as Near Misses, property damage, and injuries. The Safety Supervisor will primarily communicate with project managers, superintendents, foremen and crews and will communicate with subcontractors, clients and vendors. The Safety Supervisor will help drive the safety culture of Lindblad through job site audits, trainings, and job site visits. Responsibilities & Duties Visit various construction sites and perform job site inspections Perform near miss and incident investigations, identify and track corrective actions Develop job safety analyses for various jobs Develop and conduct safety related training to new and current employees and subcontractors Develop job site safety plans and reports Draft and revise safety policies Uphold drug testing policy, safe driving policy and related programs Promote positive safety-first atmosphere Provide direction, support and resource to all managers, superintendents, foremen, and employees as well as those working at the job sites. Other duties as required
Qualifications:
Occupational health and safety degree or related field preferred; high school diploma required 3-5+ years of experience in safety field, construction preferred Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Understanding of OSHA as well as federal, state and local safety statutes Knowledge of environmental standards and industrial hygiene standards Good driving record and ability to pass a background check Ability to work independently and on multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to shifting tasks and work hours as needed.
